After a long sand busy season we felt in need of bit of a holiday - so we decided to take a trip in the van with some of our greatest friends down to the Southwest coast of France.
We took a ferry accross the channel from Portsmouth to Le Havre (definately a good ferry crossing if you are looking for a cheap overnight deal!) and arrived in the early hours of the morning. After cautiously deliberating which way to drive around the French roundabouts in the city centre, and a few beeps from the crazy French drivers we were on the road.
It’s great how fast you can drive in France! Within just a couple hours we had made some good progress. It was looking like a wonderful day as the sun rose over the misty valleys. In fact it turned out to be such a wonderfully hot day that we had to have the windows down all the way….which is a bit of a bummer when driving at 80mph. After about 8 hours, a few wrong turns and some slightly sweaty & windswept passengers we made it to the coast just in time for the sunset!
